The aim of the Surgery program is to present you with an overview of surgery and to assist you in improving your approach to the diagnosis and management of diseases and conditions that can benefit from surgery. It will provide you with the confidence boost you need to approach more complex surgeries.

Tutors
Dr Wing Tip Wong
DVM MVS MACVSc (Surgery)
Wing Tip has spent most of his time as a clinician and teacher. He worked for several years in private practice in Malaysia and returned to the University of Melbourne in 1988 to work at the Veterinary Clinic and Hospital. From 1999 he spent 14 months as staff surgeon in private referral practice. Currently he is consultant surgeon (orthopaedics and neurosurgery) in the Veterinary Clinic and Hospital as well as senior fellow in the Department of Veterinary Science, University of Melbourne.

Dr Glenn Edwards
BVSc MACVSc (Surgery)
Glenn Edwards is associate professor in small animal surgery at the School of Veterinary Science, University of Melbourne teaching all aspects of small animal surgery, but has a particular interest in soft tissue surgery.
He has extensive collaborative research interests in biomaterial development, including artificial hearts, vascular prostheses and stents, wound management and urinary tract conditions.
