Practical Gastrointestinal Surgery Techniques I DVD

The Practical Gastrointestinal Surgery Techniques I DVD includes an extensive list of techniques you can use in your practice. It focuses on practical GI surgery techniques including abdominal exploratory, abdominal organ biopsy, enterotomy, intestinal anastomosis, and gastric surgical techniques.

The author has a number of tips on how to make these procedures easier, especially for veterinarians who don't have a scrubbed assistant. Also included is a preoperative and intraoperative look at several GDV patients presenting to our emergency clinic. Methods of derotation and assessment of gastric viability are shown and discussed. Several gastropexy techniques are included as well. A section on feeding tube placement is also included. Nasoesophageal, esophagostomy, gastrostomy (without an endoscope), and jejunostomy feeding tube placement are described and demonstrated. Specific gastrointestinal cases such as megacolon in cats, surgical management of linear foreign bodies, gunshot wounds, and surgery to alter pyloric outflow obstruction are included. And as a special practice tip, a novel technique for performing anal sacculectomy is shown and described. All video clips were filmed on clinical cases.
