This course will serve as an introduction to non-accidental injury investigation and documentation.
The purpose of the course is to give the student an overview of typical signs and symptoms of injuries sustained deliberately, either through abuse or neglect.
This course is an introduction to animal crime scene investigations. The purpose of the course is to give participants an overview of procedures and protocols used when processing an animal crime scene and various types of associated evidence. The steps for processing of crime scenes are taught from a human forensics perspective as these are the same regardless of species, although animal-specific evidence and situations are emphasized.
This course is delivered in partnership with The University of Florida.

I found this course to be extremely informative, if not harrowing and shocking at times,but so important in bringing to the forefront a problem that has always been present, that is the lack being able to speak out about potential animal cruelty. This course showed the ways in which Veterinarians can now recognize, evaluate and report potential cases, with confidence believing that what we observe in our clients and patients is paramount to recognizing not only the animal abuse, but often the sinister concurrent human abuse.
