Wildlife Friendly Clinics: Fundamentals WebinarPLUS NurseEd

Veterinary staff are critical to the success of wildlife rehabilitation and do an extraordinary amount of work for the wildlife sector.

Although necessary in order to receive professional assessment and medications, admission into a clinic can be a highly stressful experience for wildlife and wildlife patients are often not the priority for a busy clinic. These factors combined, can result in poor rehabilitation outcomes for wildlife patients. “Wildlife Friendly Clinics” Part I will explore ways in which nurses specifically can improve outcomes for commonly received wildlife patients such as birds, possums, lizards and turtles by addressing safe and effective handling techniques, appropriate hospital housing for stress minimisation, accurate identification, physical examination and record keeping.

This webinar is delivered in collaboration with WIRES, Australia’s largest wildlife rescue organisation.
