Peter Groves
BVSc (Hons), MACVSc (Epidemiology), PhD
Peter has been working with poultry since 1981 (so 41 years). He has worked in pharmaceutical companies (Pfizer and Elanco) and the two largest meat chicken companies in Australia (Inghams and Baiada/Steggles) and then as a veterinary consultant to the poultry industry. He joined The University of Sydney as a part time lecturer in poultry health in 2005 and developed into a full time role including Directorship of the Poultry Research Foundation. His research interests have included broiler ascites syndrome, Salmonella in layers and breeders, infectious laryngotracheitis, Marek’s Disease and Spotty Liver Disease (Campylobacter hepaticus). He has a strong interest in epidemiology of poultry diseases.
