Jade Kingsley

Jade is the founder and principal veterinarian at Urban Exotics Vet. She graduated from University of Sydney in 2012 and undertook additional internships in zoological and exotic animal medicine, including with the Bronx Zoo and the Wildlife Conservation Society. In 2018, she attained Membership of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in Avian Medicine and Surgery.
She spent a decade working in dedicated avian and exotic specialist and referral hospitals across Australia, including several years at Sydney Exotics and Rabbit Vets alongside Dr Vella, developing strong experience in the management of complex and critical cases, particularly in rabbits and guinea pigs.
At Urban Exotics Vet, Jade manages a broad caseload of rabbits, birds, and other exotic species. Her clinical interests include dental disease, endocrinology, clinical nutrition, and optimising quality of life for chronically ill exotic pets, with a focus on practical, individualised care. Alongside her clinical work, she is actively involved in veterinary education and mentorship, delivering lectures, webinars, and training for veterinary professionals and wildlife carers. Jade also volunteers with the Sydney Wildlife Mobile Care Unit and maintains a strong connection to wildlife conservation both in Australia and internationally.
