Alastair Franklin


Alastair graduated from Pembroke College, Cambridge in 2001 with a Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine, preceded by an intercalated degree in Biological Anthropology. He spent 5 years working in London, initially for a private small animal practice then a large charity hospital, before relocating to Sydney. In 2007 he attained both the RCVS Certificate in Small Animal Surgery and Membership of the Surgical Chapter of the Australian College of Veterinary Scientists by examination, following which he completed an internship and subsequent surgical residency at the Veterinary Specialist Centre, Sydney. Alastair gained Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in 2012. After a number of years teaching undergraduate and postgraduate students at the University of Sydney, Alastair has returned to private referral practice in Sydney. Alastair has particular clinical and research interests in oncological surgery, joint surgery and trauma management.
