BVSc (Hons) PhD MACVSc Dipl. ACVIM (Cardiology)
Fiona graduated with BVSc from the University of Queensland in 1996. After graduation, she worked in small animal practice in the UK and Australia for two years before undertaking a PhD at the University of Queensland. In 2001, she became a Member of the ACVSc (small animal medicine) and worked as a clinician in the University of Queensland Veterinary Teaching Hospital. She began a 3-year residency program in 2003 in all-species cardiology at the University of California, Davis and become a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Cardiology) in 2006. Fiona completed an externship during 2006 at the paediatric cardiology facility of Boston Children’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School before returning to the Cardiology Service at UC Davis where she was employed as a specialist veterinary cardiologist. She returned to Australia in 2007 to be the only American board certified cardiologist and one of only three specialist cardiologists in Australia.
