Nicole’s passion for animal welfare and ethics started at the Walter & Elisa Hall Institute of Medical Research in Melbourne in 2001 where her love for animals and dedication to welfare and ethics of animals in research was enhanced by a progressive and forward-thinking team.
Nicole moved to the United Kingdom in 2004 where she worked for 10 years in animal research facilities at Imperial College London and University College London. During this time in the UK, Nicole started to develop a keen interest in the way animal research was delivered, managed and reported on in different countries.
Feeling the need for more sunshine and warmer beaches, Nicole moved back to Australia in 2014 to work at the University of Sydney in the Research Integrity and Ethics Administration office in the Research Portfolio. Nicole is now the Animal Ethics Manager at the University of Sydney and managers the Sydney Animal Research Ethics Group (SAREG) which brings together the animal ethics teams across organisations based in Sydney.
