"Stress! RU really OK?"
101 things you wanted to know about stress... but were too busy to ask.
What causes stress? How can it be minimised and managed better? These and many more questions will be answered at the next lunch time faculty seminar...

Everyone has heard about the concept of Stress...  but few people understand the neuro-physiological drivers, or hormonal triggers that cause "stress'.  Even fewer know how to successfully manage stressful situations.

Working or studying at a university in 2017 will induce stressful situations, it is how one manages those situations that enables you to see light at the end of the tunnel, or even just see the tunnel.  Dr Peter Higgins has prepared an oration that will take you through the aetiology and epidemiology of stress in a work environment.  He also answers the question of; What if they say "No, I'm not OK?".  Just as importantly Peter discusses preventative procedures that can be put in place to better self manage and self care.  Peter also discusses some basic Mental Health First Aid procedures to follow when one feels completely STRESSED OUT.
