Anaesthesia & Analgesia: Unusual Pets Distance Education

Anaesthesia & Analgesia: Unusual Pets Distance Education

Enhance your veterinary anesthesia expertise with our specialized course focusing on less commonly treated species, including rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, birds, and reptiles.

This program is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely and effectively administer anesthesia to these unique animals, facilitating handling as well as diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.

Participants will apply their fundamental knowledge and skills in anaesthesia to devise anaesthetic protocols by taking into consideration the risks associated with anaesthesia, the unique anatomy and physiology and responses to anaesthesia , and to be able to respond to common peri-anaesthetic complications.

This is the final course in our Anaesthesia and Analgesia program and takes a deep dive into the special considerations needed when confronted with rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, birds and reptiles. The Fundamentals course aims to develop and update your understanding of the principles underpinning anaesthetic care. The program then looks to expand your understanding of and ability to deal with the complications associated with compromised patients. For more information about the other courses in the program:

Anaesthesia & Analgesia: Fundamentals
Anaesthesia & Analgesia: The Compromised Patient

Past Participant:

I have learned a lot of crucial information that an anaesthetist has to know about the animal especially anatomy, physical examination, restraint, pre and post operative management, pain assessment and drugs that are usually used.
