Real Cases. Multiple Perspectives. Better Decisions.
Join us in Sydney for a truly integrated approach to diagnostic imaging.
Following exceptional feedback from our Case-based Diagnostic Imaging Conference in Melbourne in 2025, our expert panel returns to once again unpack real-world internal medicine, emergency and critical care, and musculoskeletal cases, all anchored by a thorough, systematic approach to diagnostic imaging.
Attendees last year said that the panel-led discussions exposed critical thinking insights and a problem-based, spectrum of care approach to cases that was unlike any other CPD conference they had attended and worth attending every year.
Included with your registration
This time we have expanded the focus on the systematic approach to diagnostic imaging and all participants will receive complimentary access to selected Animal Imaging learning materials before the conference, allowing you to refresh core imaging concepts and maximise your learning during the event.
If you want to strengthen your clinical decision-making and learn how to capture and interpret imaging that truly guides patient care, then this is the conference to attend – whether it's your first time or you’re coming back for more.
This event is delivered in partnership with Animal Imaging

Conference Program
This truly multidisciplinary program is structured as a dynamic panel where expert speakers will present authentic, case-based scenarios anchored in diagnostic imaging, inviting participants to interpret, question and reflect in real time.
Through this interactive format, the often invisible elements of clinical decision-making are made explicit. Participants will gain insight into specialist-level thinking, including how uncertainty, context and case-specific factors influence imaging choices and interpretation.
Day 1: Thoracic Imaging
Speakers: Dr Jane Day, Dr Mary Thompson, Dr Claire Sharp
Case-based discussions focused on cats and dogs presenting with dyspnoea. Through real-world cases, you’ll learn how to differentiate thoracic soft tissue opacities, including pleural effusion, variations in lung patterns, masses, and how contrast studies and ultrasound can support diagnosis and management.
Day 2: Abdominal Imaging
Speakers: Dr Jane Day, Dr Mary Thompson, Dr Claire Sharp
Case-based discussions focused on cats and dogs presenting with signs relating to abdominal disease. Observe how subtle changes in opacity, form and location of structures can contribute clues to a more complete clinical picture and learn about optimisation and interpretation of abdominal images, in the context of history and the clinical examination.
Day 3: Musculoskeletal Imaging
Speakers: Dr Jane Day and Dr Mark Glyde
Participate in case-based discussions focused on patients with both surgical and non-surgical musculoskeletal conditions. Learn how to better perform and interpret lameness together with optimised diagnostic images and in the context of the patient history and presentation. Develop greater confidence interpreting challenging musculoskeletal findings in practice.
Conference Program
The cases presented throughout the conference will be available for digital download. Participants are welcome to bring a laptop or iPad if they would prefer to review the cases on their own device alongside the presentations, however this is entirely optional.
Past Participants:
I would highly recommend this course for anyone who looks at radiographs. There were useful positioning tips, tools for interpretation and interesting cases to work through. My radiology skills have improved 100% after this course
Julie Boyle, Melbourne 2025 attendee
The Diagnostic Imaging Conference and Masterclass has given me the skills and enthusiasm to take on cases in my practice with confidence. I really enjoyed the dynamic between Mary, Jane and Claire and found all of the case discussions very engaging and practically useful for general practice.
Alri Lightley, Melbourne 2025 attendee
This course was highly engaging and digestible. The content was easily presented and communication was directed specifically towards and cases and changed direction appropriately based on questions throughout the three days. It exceeded all of my expectations in terms of delivery, content provided and the format of delivery. Excited to use all the tips and tricks in practice now.
Cassandra, Melbourne 2025 attendee
Learning Outcomes
- Apply a systematic approach to diagnostic imaging to improve image acquisition, interpretation, and clinical decision-making in small animal practice.
- Integrate radiography, ultrasound, and contrast studies to investigate thoracic, abdominal, and musculoskeletal cases and guide appropriate diagnostic and treatment plans.
- Interpret diagnostic imaging findings within real clinical cases to differentiate common and complex conditions affecting dyspnoeic, vomiting, and lame patients.
Who should enrol?
This conference is designed for veterinarians who:
-
Want to become more confident interpreting diagnostic images
-
Use radiography and ultrasound regularly in practice
-
Enjoy case-based learning and clinical discussion
-
Want practical skills that can be applied immediately
-
Are looking to strengthen clinical reasoning and decision-making
