Workshop on the use of modern insulin treatment protocols and continuous glucose monitoring in diabetic cats and dogs.

Over 2 days diabetes gurus Linda Fleeman, Chen Gilor and Renea Barrett will share their insights, tips, and tricks on how to manage diabetes in cats and dogs.
Interactive discussions in the mornings will highlight the pros and cons of modern insulin formulations and monitoring methods, as well as addressing questions such as:
- How to minimise the impact of treating a diabetic pet on the owner’s quality of life?
- Should we be frightened of inducing hypoglycaemia?
- Which diabetic patients will benefit from dietary adjustment, and which will not?
- What can we do about excessive glycaemic variability?
- How to optimise the chance of diabetic remission in cats?
The afternoons will be devoted to gaining hands-on experience with managing real life diabetic cat and dog cases. You’ll find out exactly how decisions regarding insulin dose titration and other management changes can achieve the goals that you set for the patient.

In this engaging session, groups will explore Continuous Glucose Monitoring through a hands-on experience with the Freestyle Libre system. Participants will receive a learning pack with resources on applying the sensor, using the LibreLink app, and navigating the Freestyle Libre reader and LibreView software. A practical demonstration will involve volunteers applying sensors to gain firsthand experience.
