Anaesthetic Considerations for Seizure-Prone or Head Trauma
Approximately 0.75% of the canine population has epilepsy. Add to that traumatic brain injuries, and it’s likely that at some stage you will be facing the conundrum of anaesthetizing a patient with possible increased intracranial pressure.
Mathieu will cover the preanaesthetic considerations of those cases including history, physical examination and clinical signs that may influence decision making, as well as planning for complications, tips for monitoring and how to maximise the likelihood of a safe recovery.
