Weighting Imperfect Diagnostic Evidence WebinarLIVE! Weighting Imperfect Diagnostic Evidence WebinarLIVE! The evidence provided by a diagnostic test is rarely definitive and we usually need to cumulate several pieces of evidence to reach a final diagnosis. Although objective and quantitative approaches exist to decide when sufficient diagnostic evidence was collected, these are rarely used in routine decision-making because they are time consuming and somehow complicated. In this WebinarLIVE! Associate Professor, Charles Caraguel will review (i) the theory behind weighting diagnostic test evidence using Diagnostic Likelihood Ratios (instead of Diagnostic Sensitivity and Specificity), as well as (ii) some practice-friendly tools (e.g. DocNomo App) to compare and interpret diagnostic test results. Following evidence-base medicine principles, it is expected that a more objective appraisal of the evidence provided by a test result will reduce the risk of a misdiagnosis and optimise patient’s health care. |
